There is an area of real estate in Malibu, Ca that is extraordinarily exclusive. It is called Serra Retreat, however, it is also known as Serra Canyon. However, when the Rindge family fortune was dispersed, it was sold to the Fransicans in 1942. So, today's neighborhood of Serra Retreat or Serra Canyon is in the area of the original Rindge estate.
This area of real estate in Malibu has 96 lots that range in size from less than a half-acre to more than four acres. Today, most are single family dwellings. Just as lot size varies, so does home size, reflecting the eclectic and diverse economic and architecture of this unique Malibu locale. Eighty percent of the lots are one acre or less while the balance are over one acre. This parcel of real estate is the historic center of Rancho Malibu. Its rustic character is unusual and loved.
