May 04, 2008  Added Internet TV. No catch, just watch tons of free channels, quite addictive too. For instance see "entertainment" then choose "caught on video". Does not seem to work with my Firefox, so I just use Opera instead.

April 28, 2008  Added a scrolling news box on the left side of the Home Page. Just a trial really but I somehow felt the need to have one so I can take a look myself when passing by..

April 23, 2008 There have been many undocumented changes to the site, I apologize for this but a lack of time  meant that this page wasn't updated for a while. One of the main changes has been a caching system that I have been testing.

Articlelogy has grown to over 3000 pages, traffic some days goes up to 100+ uniques and this was placing undue load on the server.

 The site is database powered so each page view was a database query. The site became a bit sluggish hence the idea to cache (save) pages. When you view a page, if it has been seen before within the last 10 minutes then the page has been saved and so it gets displayed immediately without the system having to query the database for it.

This is very good for readers but it brought some problems for the secure areas.

When authors log in  the page does not refresh immediately (this is because the non logged in page is saved) but I am working on it, for now just know that it takes 10 minutes between page refreshing. Submissions have been disabled anyway as I have a backlog of over 2000 articles to go through and I am working on both things at the same time, I appreciate your patience.

April 09, 2008  Made site more compact, eliminated much white space, deleted a few articles that lead to sites that infringed Google's Adsense TOS..

April 01, 2008  Author's Spotlight has been switched off. Why? Many reasons.

1) Nobody bothered with their photos so there was tons of wasted white space that can be used more efficiently. 

2) my home page was "bleeding out" much needed page rank with all those outgoing links on the Spotlight. Ezinearticles don't have outgoing links on their spotlight so perhaps we should learn from them.

3) I am receiving up to 500 articles a day sometimes and checking them all has become impossible, so perhaps I will just stop encouraging authors to post so much, I am only human after all :) I will turn the Spotlight back on in the future when there'll be some pictures to show and fewer Authors on moderated status.

March 28, 2008  Added a snippet of code that automatically takes the users signature and inserts it into the About Author field when users submit Articles.

March 24, 2008  The bill for the hosting has come and so we added a few sponsors back! New additions are at the bottom of the page (in some categories only)

March 24, 2008  After some testing, the translation code had to come off. It translates on the fly and slows everything down, some testing being done to see if we can cache the pages. Even if we get it going again I am  wondering if a bad translation is better than no translation at all. I guess a choice is better than no choice?

March 19, 2008 Automatic Translation added. Clicking on the flags will translate the site into the language you want. Some languages are returning an error, (Russian and Dutch) I am not too sure why as the code seems to be fine, I'll give it a week to see if it resolves itself.

March 13, 2008. Because of me working on the site I now have a backlog of 500+ articles to approve, growing by about 150 articles per day.

Please note, if you are submitting the same article to 500+ sites, please do not submit it to us.

Because of duplicate content penalties your article will not rank well on the engines and might not rank at all so we might as well not have it.

March 10, 2008 SEO work: Article summary now is automatically inserted in the meta tag description of the page, article title will become

the page's title and the keywords entered when submitting the article will be included in the meta tags too.

March 10, 2008 Added "Favorites" button. After logging in you will see a favorites button on each article. Clicking it will add it to your favorite articles. On the left navigation menu you will find a link ( My Favorites) to a page where you will find all your favorite articles, from there you can also delete them.

March 08, 2008 Added "Bookmark This" dropdown box. This is visible on all pages and will allow you to bookmark the site to various social bookmarking sites.
