But now, many colleges and universities offer classes in Chinese because of the importance of China in world trade and business. There is a large increase in the number of language institutes and academies that now offer courses in Chinese.
It was not that long ago when the Chinese government restricted travel to China. Now these restrictions have been somewhat relaxed. There are more people taking trips to China. While most travel to China is for business purposes, there is an increase in tourism. There are also more academics and scientists traveling to China for educational purposes. A foreign traveler in China must be aware of the laws and the customs of this country. They are very different than in the West.
