And the intensity of our focus on survival interferes with our ability to make fine judgments based on drawing information from many sources. You have to make yourself aware of what makes you stressed and how you would handle it. How does your mind and body react? Take control. Don't dwell on what cannot be changed. What events commonly stress you out? What do these events mean to you and who you are as a person? How would your body, on the other hand, deal with stress? Do you suffer from anxiety or get sick? If so, in what specific ways?

How To Prevent Stress If you react emotionally towards stress, try controlling it. Remember that the way you react to stress largely depends on how you yourself react to danger, may it be emotional danger and/or physical danger. Some of these situations aren't really that dangerous as they may seem, but nonetheless packed with pressure - examples include preparing for a very important job interview, needing to "save" a 2-1 lead as you pitch against a known home run hitter, or preparing for a date with someone you've wanted to go out with for quite a while. This stress happens to be good and can motivate you to success if used properly. And once it's all over and done with, your nervous system can relax again and stand by for the next time it would need to kick in.
