Write down phone numbers, websites and email addresses for everyone involved in your wedding, from friends and family through to caterers, hotels and florists. Important information like your future mother-in-law's dress size and the special needs of your bridal party should also be recorded in your notebook. Although you may be tempted to simply record this information in your PDA or cell phone, just remember that these electronic items have a shelf life. Once the battery has been depleted or lost, all of your memories will be gone as well.
If you're thinking that this all seems like a lot of useless work, just wait until that frantic moment, days before your wedding day, when you need to get in touch with the caterer or florist and have no idea where you put his card. If you want to avoid turning into bride-zilla, there is nothing more effective than a well-utilized notebook. Communicate Effectively
Communication is a two-way street. It's not just about what you say, but how others interpret your words. By making sure to get everything in writing you can ensure that everyone has the same understanding of your needs. Always make sure to get a written quote and/or receipt for work done or promises of delivery, and keep those receipts and quotes in your notebook. Always contact all of your vendors closer to your wedding day to confirm that they are on track for delivery. Make sure to get confirmation in writing.
