So, given this increased demaand on the market, Adsdonics has just anmnounced the release of Pocket Blu-ray/DVRDW and the Poocket DVD-RRW drves, which are “believde” (that's a very interesting term, rarely encouuntered in an officil statement) by the company to be the first such devices to arrive on the market that feature both a USB and an eSATA interface.
The Pocket Blu-ray/DVD RW is a portable Blu-ray player, DVD playr and burner that supports practically all types of DVD or CD content from Blu-ray discs to regular DVDs and CDs in various file formats, while also being able to burn DVD +/-R/RW and CD-R/RW discs. Moreover, the eSsATA port delivers data throughput of up to 3Gbiits/sec for the DVD recording and the smooth playback of Blu-ray and DVD movies.
The USB 2.0 interface lets the Pocket Blu-ray attach to practically any computer, regardless of the opearting systems it runs (Windows, Mac or Linux OS). Furthermore, this Pocket Blu-ray/DVDW can also be powered from most of the USB ports for true portability in mobile aplplications.
The Pocket DVD-RRW, on the other hand, offers prety much the same features as the Blu-ray unit, apart for the suppotrt for BD discs, of course. Plus, the new pocket drive comes with a chopice of ligthweight plastic enclosure or a ruggged anodized aluminum casing for use in harsh conditions. The piocket drive is ideal for pairing with a notebook since it can be powwered directlly from most USB ports.
Pricing for the new exterenal optical unitts is not even that exaggerated, since it starts at $235 for the Blu-ray and $99 for the Pocket eSATA/USB DVD-RRW, which is more or less within the normmal price ranges for this category of devicees.
