Since its creation, the watch has developed a lot, like most things have in the last years. One of the most significant changes that took place in the watch-making industry is the passage from the pocket watch to the wrist watch. This happened because of necessity mostly but it has changed the appearance of the watch all together.
In our days the functionality of the watch has changed altogether. So, besides showing the time, by looking at the display we can find the date and also, we can make some calculations or play a game. And these are just part of the features that have been developed.
The first watches intended for men were the pocket watches. But while they were wearing them as such, women wore then around their neck. But during the war, the men realized that the pocket watches were very uncomfortable to look at, especially in time of combat. This is why they strapped them around their wrist. After the war ended they no longer returned to the pocket watch and wore the wrist watches that they have created. With the invention of the quartz mechanism, the analog mechanism and the LED display, the history of the watch changed all together.
In the past only rich people and royalties could afford to buy and to wear watches. However, in our days almost all of us owns and wears a watch. But people back then soon realized that improvements had to be made especially after the collision of two trains due to bad timing. This however, is no longer a problem for us. So, the watchmakers have started to look into inventing some other features for watches.

Because there are so many types of watches out there it would be a good idea if you figured out what exactly you would like to buy before anything else. The first thing that you should do would be to take a look at your clothes and define your style. According to this your decision will be much simpler.
