Some Simple Yet Effective Brochure Design Tips
Go to: Previous Article Next Article
Have you ever thought that a brochure can be one of the most potent of all your marketing materials? It is a simple piece of paper but the original impact that your booklet creates is fundamental. If it's shabby and off-putting your candidate is left with the same feeling. This will slow your business growth.
The key to a winning marketing scheme is a professionally designed brochure. Take time to ensure that it has all the right information that is easily understood by your intended readers.
For those who are just starting out in business, here's a truly great tip in creating a good brochure: go professional from day one. You may be coaxed to do it yourself and just save the cost. But you must be aware that they are an asset, not an expenditure. Materials that are professionally produced will deliver the reasons why you are in business in the first place: the customers and the cash flow to follow.
There are three essential design rules that you need to observe in making a brochure that stands out.
1. The Cover:
Brochures are quite inactive creatures, which is why you need something that will "talk" for you. The cover is your very own sales person, whatever is on it will either be bought or ignored by the readers so you need something that will stimulate people to read more.
The very first page should answer the question WIFM (What's in it for me?) for readers. The cover must be inviting enough that the readers can relate to it and will wish to read further.
2. The Content:
After successfully inviting the readers to flip the pages, the brochure should hold the readers' attention a little bit more with its content. It should give the readers what they want to see and, simultaneously, what you want to express.
Only include info that matter. Don't overkill by swamping the readers with too much content or else you will surely lose them. Keep everything brief and concise. Only include essential details.
3. The Call For Action:
After making an attractive and moving content, the next step that you need to do is to provide your company's calling card by printing your contact details.
Give readers more selections in contacting your company by providing other forms of communications other than phone number and address. Also add your fax number, email address, and website if you have. Don't forget to print them all in big fonts and set them up in an obvious position on the brochure.
Give your readers value to move them to take action. Readdressing the fundamental value of your service will get them to purchase something from your company. Just remember that they will only purchase something from you if they think that something is of importance to them.
