How to Create Custom Foam Packaging

Doesn't bother you travelling by with lots of packaging and always have to be extra cautious with your fragile things? Are you a business person and you often have to transport your products long distances? Custom foam packaging can be a solution for you.
If you have a small business or you don't, but you travel a lot, you may want to consider making your own foam packaging. For example if you are a photographer, or just transporting electronic items, foam is the best way to package your products. No matter what is your level of interest, protecting the investment you have made in your equipment is important to you. Cases provide some level of protection, but even a dropped case can break the fragile lens or other mechanism. Using closed cell foam to create custom inserts or packaging for your camera or other products adds another important level of protection from impact. Plus, it makes organizing and inventory of gear a snap.
First, you should put the foam on a level surface. Place the camera bag in a corner and mark out a piece the size of the bag bottom. Cut a piece of foam with the utility knife and use that as a template to mark out the number of pieces to fill the height of the bag when it is stacked on top of one another. Gather all the equipment and supplies that you need to store in the camera bag. Lay the items on one of the foam pieces that you cut in before. Organize similar items together. Begin with the camera or camera body. Mark around the camera. Stand long, narrow items, such as lenses on end and use that marker to draw the outline.
Cut out the shapes you marked in the foam. Use that piece as a template and mark and cut all but leave two of the foam pieces. One of them will rest in the bottom of the bag and one of them will cover the top. Put the bottom piece flat and spray glue over one of the cut pieces. Match the outsides of the foam and lay the glued face against the top of the bottom. Press the two pieces together strongly. Add the other pieces one at a time, making sure to press the foam together. Let the glue to dry entirely before sliding the foam into the camera bag. Set the camera, lenses and other supplies into their proper places. Leave the top piece unglued and lay it over the top for protection.
It is a very simple thing to make your own custom foam packaging and if you are using it only for personal purpose or just a small business, you can easily choose this low cost solution for your packaging.
