Don't begin a project without finding the end zone first. Setting goals will give you direction for where to focus your time.
3. Stay Flexible
Even the best laid plans can totally awry if you over plan. Allow breathing room for unexpected interruptions and opportunities
4. Energize Yourself in 5 Minutes
Taking 5-minute power breaks throughout the day will energize and invigorate you. Unplug, disconnect and get out of the office. You can daydream, look through a catalog, or read motivational quotes.
5. Are You A Perfectionist?
Yes, Im a recover perfectionist. While I do like my duck in a row before proceeding, I came to realize that the row doesn't need to be perfectly straight.
6. Practice the Powerful Word NO
Planning and focusing on your goals gives you a realistic look at available time. This makes it easier for you to say NO to unimportant tasks.
7. Work within Your Peak Zones
Do you know the time of day where you perform at your best? Perhaps it's the morning. Maybe you like the nights better. Do your higher priority task during your peak
8. Set Your Priorities
Not all activities and task are equal. Use the 80/20 rule when prioritizing your task. Select the top 20 percent that will bring you the highest reward. Put those activities at the top of your list.
9. Overcome Procrastination
Procrastination often happens when you feel overwhelmed on where to begin. Invest time to take your bigger project and break into smaller more manageable tasks. Break those tasks into smaller 15 minute chunks. You can fit those smaller task chunks easier into your day and will see progress happen much faster.
10. Give Yourself A Reward
Rewarding yourself when you complete a task will keep you focused on getting it done. No matter how small the task always reward yourself upon completion.
