Long Wedding Hairstyles Down
Go to: Previous Article Next Article
Your wedding day is certainly an occasion to be a little extra picky about having perfect hair, but sometimes the hardest part is choosing the right hairstyle for you! Most brides have a hard time with this because the style that you decide on really makes a huge difference in the way you look.
For those of you with long hair, you are in luck! Long hair provides an endless amount of styling options, therefore making it the easiest length to style. You can choose to wear your hair down, in a low up-do, a high up-do, a ponytail, a side ponytail, a classic bun, a side bun, a french twist, a beehive, tight curls, no curls, and the list just keeps on continuing.
The first thing you will want to consider is the type of hair you have. Is your hair thick or thin? Does it hold curls well? Is it easy to tame or is it unruly with a mind of it's own? Is it damaged or silky and shiny? Is it heavily layered or all one length? Do you have bangs or no bangs? Do you like your hair parted in the middle or off to the side?
For those of you with thick, unruly or wavy hair, I think that the best choice is an up-do because thick hair makes it especially easy to create an ample sized bun with lots of drama and keeps that mane out of your way. You have an endless array of options in up-do hairstyles, from casual and timeless to very formal and elegant. Hair accessories are also very easy to combine with an up-do. Another great option for thick hair is wearing it half up. This give you the chance to show off those beautiful curls while still having some control and giving you the opportunity to put some volume into the crown. A side ponytail is one of my favorite options for brides with a massive amount of hair, and when styled right, can be very glamorous.
If you have thin hair you can go either way when choosing your style. Although an up-do hairstyle on thinner hair is always a gorgeous and classic choice, it can be a little more difficult to create volume. If you have beautiful and healthy hair, why not wear it down? I love the look with loose curls and perhaps a hair accessory pinning a small section to the side. This styles works well if your hair can hold those curls throughout the entire wedding ceremony and reception.
Another thing to think about when deciding on the perfect hairstyle for you is what is going to be the most flattering with your individual facial features. It's important to choose a hairstyle that is going to make you feel self-confident. Every brides should feel their greatest on this one special day and choosing the right hairstyle will make a significant difference in the outcome of the photos you will be captured in.
While there are other things to consider, such as the style of your wedding gown, the formality of your wedding, and whether you've chosen an out-door or in-door wedding, I think one of the most essential things to consider is your personality! If a french twist just isn't your thing, then you shouldn't even consider it, even if it is the latest trend in bridal fashion.
