The idea that flower arrangements conveyed a series of secret meanings dated back to the early Chinese dynasties. It was then named floriography, while the Japanese called it Hanakotoba.
From the origin of flower's name to its distinctive characteristics and rich mythology, flowers are steeped with symbols and meanings. 1st - Pansy. Thoughtful reflection and Merriment. Pansies are one of the earliest flowering plants, blooming alongside the spring bulbs.
2nd - Cosmos. Thoughtful, Modesty. Cosmos flowers come in brightly colored single or double flowers which include white, pink, orange, yellow, and scarlet colors.
3rd - Fuchsia. Good taste and confiding love. In many species, the sepals are bright red and the petals purple, a combination of colors that attract hummingbirds.
4th - Geranium. Stupidity, Folly, Comfort, Gentility. Geraniums are found in temperate regions of the world and in tropical mountains.
5th - Daisy. Purity and loyal love and beauty. The Daisy family or Compositae is the largest family of flowering plants.
10th - Daffodil. The flower symbolism associated with the daffodil is regard, unrequited love, chivalry, sunshine, respect and please love me. In contrary, it also means chivalry and deceit.
15th - Rose. Long a symbol of love and passion, the ancient Greeks and Romans associated roses with Aphrodite and Venus, goddesses of love.
