In order to play basketball properly, you must put in some time to learn the game. There is no better way to learn to play the game than by installing a portable basketball system in your back yard. Playing basketball is hard work because you need to be proficient at shooting, dribbling, passing and defense.
Many hours of hard work and entertainment can be provided by a portable basketball system in your backyard. You will be able to set up a basketball system like the Spalding 72354 anywhere in your backyard or driveway. To anchor the portable basketball system, installation is as easy as hooking the water hose up to the 37.5 anchor base, or you can also fill it with sand.
This basketball system has a three piece, 3.5 inch diameter silver pole and a Pro Glide lift system that allows you to easily adjust the height from 7.5 to 10 feet in 6-inch increments. The 4 foot poly carbonate, steel framed backboard as well as the 5/8 inch solid steel Slam Jam breakaway rim and all weather net completes this portable basketball system.
This basketball system takes up more room than an in ground system, as do all portable basketball systems. Offering many advantages to some people, this basketball system can be the right choice. Players can move the system to another location because the portable base is on wheels. You don't have to worry about using concrete or about having a permanent system that can't be easily moved.
Even though we purchased the Spalding 72354 Portable Basketball System for our 7 and 10 year old kids, the neighborhood kids and their dads have been giving it a fair amount of use. The height adjustment works quite easily, the setup is simple for anyone with basic tools and the flimsy backboard complaints seem to be overblown. The metal support behind the backboard makes it more than adequate for bank shots, shooting down the flimsy complaint. One bit of advice that I followed was to wheel the system into place and then fill the base with water. The Spalding 72354 is a good product and I think that the kids will have fun with it for many years to come.
