Generally in piano classes teacher guides the student to learn and play the music of the 'masters' with the schema book. And most of the student learn how to read and write music in a year or two and become perfect to play well. And they really find enjoyable and satisfy with it. These all process is to entertain themselves and others by playing really good music.

Actually there is nothing really wrong with this approach. But what if, you could express yourself and your emotions with your music, just like painters do with their paintings. You will be happy to hear that there is a way. And it is works with the Chord -based approach to music.

The chords of a pianist are very similar to the colors of a painter. Like color forms and technique help the painter to create the painting. Similarly melody, rhythm and harmony help the improving composer to compose the music.

But the saddest part of it all is that students rarely learn this art of using the chords well. And if they ever do it is usually after they have become perfect in note reading and piano technique. The most creative and expressive music still takes a lot of dedication and long time to master.

I don't know why this happens. But I am certainly sure of one thingby no chance does it need to be that way. For example by playing a few chords in a unique and particular way you can compose your own music or improvise on others music. My free lesson "Reflections in Water" teaches you just this.

In the above mentioned lesson there are 4 modern sounding chords in the Key of C Major, they are all seventh chords played in open position. Using these kind of chords we can quickly and easily begin creating music.

Actually you need not be Beethoven or a Mozart to start creating music like this. On other hand lesser you know much easier it to improvise and since you don't exactly know what is to be done.

Learning piano is very simple and easiest than any other instrument and also it is an art to learn. First you always start with the title of the piece and then start creating the piece using step by step method. This method is the common method that every one just loves it.

In simple words I can say that classical method of learning the piano is not the only way. But you can think out of the box and make your own unique music.
