When you've never experienced Cornhole previously, or have seen limited action, you most likely think it is just a matter of stepping up to the line and tossing a few cornhole bags in the hope of getting one inside the hole. While it truly is an easy game, there are cornhole bag tossing strategies you may use to improve your precision. The technique you decide on will hinge on which one works best for you, and what you feel most comfortable with. There are four basic cornhole bag tossing methods here for you to choose from , and I suggest you test out all four before you settle on one.
Check out these cornhole bag tossing techniques:
1. The Easy Fold- You fold the cornhole bag in half. Which is easy enough, don't you think so? Although here are a few points you must do when you crease the bag in two. Make sure the cornhole bag is flat and the corn inside is evenly dispersed. If you don't, your cornbag will be uneven, and can fly off to unintended destinations. Always keep it basic or otherwise you will never get the hang of it.
2. The Double Crease- Place the bag in your hand and grab a corner with the other hand. Let all the corn fall to one side of the cornhole bag. Fold the cornhole bag in 2, and then do it once more just like the standard fold. The bag will be much smaller while travelling which will have a better chance of landing in the hole.
3. The Sling- Throwing the cornhole bag like this is sure to get everyone fired up. Some Cornhole players feel this technique gives them more control, but this technique also results in numerous wild throws for the majority of players, especially those who haven't played much. Don't plan on winning the game tossing this way, but surely your buddies will get a kick out of your fastball style.
4. The Hotcake- This is the most common approach for the majority of amateur cornhole game players. It's really straightforward to do too...you just pick up the bag and toss it underhanded at the target. After a few tosses that land in numerous places, you should be able to find your range and, at least, get near to the hole with a large percentage of your tosses.
Once you decide which tossing approach is right for you, stick with it so that it gets to be second nature. You can alter it a little to fit your style, which is what I did. In the event that none of the cornhole bag throwing options be good enough, well, there are often table top cornhole sets you could buy. They can indeed be pretty enjoyable too, and it matters not the method that you hold the little cornhole bags.
