In a new interview with Fortune magazine, Oprah Winfrey revealed that she and Own chief creative officer Lisa Erspamer went to Rosie at her home last June to determine if the polarizing TV personality could be proper for her new venture.
"Rosie mentioned, 'I know you are here to examine how ridiculous I am.' I said, 'Basically, yes. I am doing a crazy check,'" Oprah told the mag.
The daytime queen was amazed with Rosie, who made headlines when she left "The View" in '07 following an on-air argument with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and also had a very public spat with "The View" boss Barbara Walters.
"What I found is that she is so giving as a mommy," Oprah explained.
As for coping with any difficulties that may possibly arise with Rosie's new Own talk show, Oprah expects one on one conversation.
"If you have an problem that is creating a difficulty, speak to me, woman to woman," Oprah mentioned in the interview. "So that it doesn't grow to be a worldwide issue."
