When he first started making movies, he was often type casted as a gangster. This type casting led him down the road to make more movies in the future though. Later on he would take on many different rules, rather than being type casted as a single type of character.
Bogart was later casted in a few movies that were somewhat unprofessional in the realm of movie making. It was at this time that he made some movies that he was not quite happy with. In fact, Humphrey Bogart felt that a few of the movies he made at this period in his career were the worst movies he ever made.
Even though his previous record was shabby compared to what was about to come in his life as a famous actor in the movie making industry. If it were not for his earlier films, Humphrey Bogart would not be as famous as he is today.
At this point in his career Humphrey Borgart movies like High Sierra was created. It was around this time that he start to become friends with some of the major players in Hollywood. Behind the scenes he was having drinks with major screenwriters and other major players in the movie industry. This was the time before his next few movies would make him rise to stardom at as unforgettable success.
This was also around the time that Humphrey Bogart began to appreciate his own movies. In fact, The Maltese Falcon, one of his favorite movies of all time, is considered to be a masterpiece by Bogart and his associates. After this film, his career became unstoppable.
There were some ups and downs throughout his career. After his many years of incredible success, Humphrey Borgart movies success somewhat flat lined at this point. He started to compete with movie studios through the use of his own studio name. During this chaos, he was unable to focus his efforts completely on making great movies.
After the dust settled, Bogart was still making films though. One of his most famous films from this time was the African Queen, his first Technicolor appearance. This movie came out around the last five years of his movie career and was truly one of his last great films.
