The Digital Signage Industry Explosion
Go to: Previous Article Next Article
Digital signage systems are becoming more and more popular in recent times and not just in Britain. As the economic situation improves more and more companies are turning to digital signage to advertise their brand.
It has been suggested that in Australia the digital signage market is expected to grow by up to 12% year on year in order to reach an estimated value of around 59 million dollars by 2013. The statistics were released in the Australian Digital Signage Systems Market Report 2010 recently.
The global economic problems had forced lots of companies to cut back on costs and spending and some signage companies are experiencing lengthy sales but interest in digital signage is growing greatly. One of the main reasons for the sudden boost to the industry has come due to the reduction in cost of plasma and LCD screens.
High profile vendors such as HP are increasing their effort in edging into the local market. Telstra recently launched a digital signage solution which is believed to be likely to become a big success.
The statistics show that the present market is very fragmented and that many channels are ill equipped to deal with the complexity projects entail; this is expected to raise the amount of mergers over the coming years, in order to solve the problem.
The digital signage industry is expected to increase greatly with the interaction of mobile devices such as the iphone and android phone from Google. Social media also provides another route to travel down with twitter and facebook expected to play a more prominent role in the signage industry.
Demand for digital signage systems has been growing over the last year and has tended to centre on public displays such as in public railway areas (like the Tokyo development), airports (see the Larnaca development) and in commercial areas such as cinema complexes and financial service branches.
