Secrets To Creating Compelling Blog Content
Go to: Previous Article Next Article
People who publish blogs have two main objectives, namely to get people to read what they have written, and then to ensure that those same people will return to the blog as often as possible. The only way to generate an income from your blog is to have as many visits to it as possible. However, if those people do not click on your AdSense links then you will not receive any payment generated by your blog. That is just the way that it works. So, whatever you decide to do with your blog, the same two objectives will still apply.
WHAT DO I WRITE IN MY BLOG?
Every one who blogs knows this feeling all too well. After setting up your blog and placing the AdSense link in the most strategic point you can think of to ensure plenty of clicks, you find yourself staring at the text box and drawing a complete and total blank. We have all been through it many times. You are afflicted by a temporary, although frustrating condition, known as writer's block. Oh sure, we are more than able too compose a decent few paragraphs by stringing sentences together, but for some reason, when faced with that text block we find we can not think of a single thing to write about. And we may begin to even doubt ourselves as we sit there staring at the screen. We ask ourselves who would be at all interested in what we have to say! But even worse than self-doubt is when you can think of nothing to write about. Fortunately, however, there are a few simple solutions that tackle this very common problem.
The most difficult part of starting any blog is coming up with an idea of what it should be about, because you will need to write about it on a daily basis. Your content has to be interesting and new so that visitors to your blog will want to visit it again and again. Your whole objective is to keep your blog popular and capable of generating an income. Luckily, ad placement is the easiest part of setting up your blog, it's coming up with content that is the tricky bit.
Of course you can choose to write about absolutely anything you want, however knowing that really does not help you to decide what you want to write about at all. The possibilities are endless and can even be overwhelming. It is like telling a child in a toy shop to pick any toy they want! How must they decide, faced with such a large and varied selection to choose from, just what they want? And so you find yourself in a similar situation.
Your blog can either be a blog that does not earn you any money, or it can be one that does. So the first decision you need to make is to decide which is best suited to you. If you choose the one that does not earn you money then all you need to do is provide the link to your blog to the people in your life, such as friends and family. You will merely need to post updates every now and again but other than that there is not much more you need to do. If, on the other hand, you want to write a blog that will bring the cash in, you need to know and understand just how search engines and AdSense work. This might also assist you in deciding what your blog would be about.
In the later articles, we will take a look at search engine optimization and AdSense more closely. But for now it is necessary that you understand that knowing something of how search engine optimization and AdSense work can assist you greatly in deciding what your blog should pertain to. If you have decided that you want your blog to generate an income then it is vitally important that whatever topics you intend writing about will effectively bring you as much traffic as possible via the search engines. While search engine optimization will direct some readers your way, your up to date and always fresh, informative content is what will keep them coming back for more. And in order to make money, the relevant AdSense ads on your blog will need to be strategically placed.
