Video marketing is another means that's gaining in popularity, and that's mostly because videos bring lots of traffic. Above all, you can always count on the search engine traffic to bail you out when you have no other source. The traffic you receive from search engines doesn't cost you anything, but it is specific and it's very relevant. Once you actually start your online marketing campaign, you'll see that a huge investment isn't necessary. After that, you may want to put your money back into your business so as to market to a wider audience.

There are thousands of ads offering free and paid for registration for the untold numbers of smaller search engines. All of the other search engines, beside the big three, are of various sizes and even purposes regarding target market. For years, Google has dominated search traffic, and it still is the majority ruler in terms of percentages of search engine traffic. You're in business, so you need to view your activities in terms of your potential ROI, then in that case it's just not worth it to fool with the smaller engines. Even if you do manage to get registered with them and rank, there may not be significant traffic volume in these search engines when the majority of the people depend on Google, Bing, and Yahoo!. From a cost-effectiveness point of view, you may realize better returns on your time spent by doing search marketing at Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Perhaps the prevailing opinion and experience indicates that for the time required, the three major search engines gives them what they need in terms of traffic volume.

In conclusion, it's a big myth that internet marketing requires you to study for years if you want to succeed. Quite obviously you have to study, but you don't need formal training to begin an online marketing business. You can just go online and read through articles, reports, newsletters, etc. which would give you enough knowledge to take a good start. The key to making it big with Internet marketing lies more in action than in theory.

In conclusion, the myths that we discussed above aren't the only ones, because there are many that you'll come across with time. Always do research on anything serious or major you learn about, and get in the habit of trusting your gut. Your chances for success will increase dramatically with the more knowledge and experience you accumulate.
