Multiple Uses for the Corner Computer Desk
Go to: Previous Article Next Article
Corner computer desks can be used in many places throughout an office. For instance, a receptionist can use one. Additionally, executives in the corner offices as well as their assistants can use them. Not only that, corner computer desks are used in office cubicles as well.
The reason corner computer desks are so versatile is because of the many different addons they have. Executives tend to add on things like mini bars and places to hang their coats.
An executives assistant on the other hand will need place to organize all the executives work. So they will use more file cabinets and drawers.
Cubicles are designed to make the most out of a small space (ie efficiency). L-shaped and u-shaped desks work perfectly in cubicles. You can stack things on top of the desks as well as underneath to make use of all the space you have.
Reception desks also come in an l-shape if you want. The priority of a receptionist is to give a great first impression of the company, this includes looking organized at their desk.
The great thing about using a an l-shaped or u-shaped desk as a reception desk is that they can hide anything. You can add on a drawer to tuck stuff away into. Or you can have a cabinet underneath to hold your supplies if you want to hide things like staplers and sticky notes.
Many times, a guest will spend some time waiting in a reception area. Maybe the person they came to see is not ready for them to come back yet. In this case, it is appropriate to have a comfortable seating area close to the reception desk. This way, when it is time for the guest to enter the office, the receptionist can just speak up and not have to track them down anywhere.
The lighting should not be harsh fluorescent lighting. This lighting is hard on the eyes and ruins and sort of decoration you may try to do. I wish fluorescent lighting was eliminated altogether.
All in all, a reception area should represent the mantra of the company. Choose decorations that are relevant toi your company. This may help people trust and want to do business with you.
