Leather furniture and leather bar stools in a bygone era tended to be the privilege of the elite. They often graced the offices of politicians or were perhaps hidden away in cigar smoked filled private men's establishments. Those days are gone for good and good it is. Very little has the elegance of leather bar stools.
Currently, leather bar stools are available in most national department stores and fine furniture stores. The stools available on the current market are either the standard 30" or the shorter 24" styles. The height of the stool chosen is determined by the height of the bar or perhaps table that is to be serviced by the stools. The best choice for children would be the shorter 24" stool.
Leather bar stools are available in a vast assortment of colors. I have personally seen dark brown, tan, black, green, white, blue, and red stools. Custom made bar stools can be manufactures in any color you desire. The legs of the bar stool can also be covered in leather but that thin leather tends not to be very durable and it is prone to tears from the heels of shoes.
These stools also come in a natural colored leather sling version which has a bit of a tex-mex aura. You can find stools with backs and arms, stools with only backs and stools without backs at all. Stools with a cushioned seat are generally more comfortable than those without but you might find that they don't wear as well as the foam loses some of it's form. The stool you chose is all a matter of personal choice.
Leather bar stools are easy to clean and, with a little care, can last for decades. To protect your leather furniture you can spray a leather protector once per year. If you see some wear on the arms you might want to rub some protective oil on to the arms. Just make sure you wipe off any excess oil. You may have noticed that leather furniture of all types, including stools seem to look better as they age. Whether they be for residential or commercial purposes good quality leather bar stools are never a bad choice.
