Animals For Your Child's Bedroom Decorations
Go to: Previous Article Next Article
If only you could grant your child's wish and bring him to the zoo every single day. That would be swell, right? Every time your sweet little one sees animals on TV, he gets all excited and recalls his exciting time visiting live animals in their "home" in the city. You in the meantime, relish the look of giddiness on your child's face. I have good news for you...you can bring the zoo to your home, right to your child's bedroom, playroom or whatever spare room you have. His very own animal place!
To decorate with animals in mind is easy to do. All you need are some materials (very easy to find) and additional props to complete the design. First, paint the walls the colors of the outdoor. Zoos are outdoor venues and using colors that depict the feeling of being outside and going around the zoo grounds makes it more realistic. Paint the walls and ceilings a sky blue and dabble some white for the clouds. Paint pictures of trees, benches, grass, flowers, etc. If you can incorporate the images you see in your local zoo, the more your kid will associate the design with the real zoo. Adding some animal pictures to the paint will be great! If not, hang posters and artworks with animals, the wild or zoo images in them.
After painting, create a decoration using "real" animals, which means you will make use of stuffed animals or animal figures as props. Cut a black hose in lengths long enough to reach the ceiling from the floor. Mount these to the wall after the paint has dried. Fasten the hose with a super strong glue or double-sided tape, or both to be absolutely sure it won't detach itself from the wall. Then you and your kid can choose stuffed animals to place between the make shift bars. Finish the props by securing the attachments with screws.
Accessorize the room with more animal-inspired objects such as beddings and curtains in animal prints. For better effects, decorate with an animal printed area rug and make it the room's focal point by placing it at the center. You can add another one or two smaller rugs placed by the door and by the window or cabinet also in animal prints. An alternative is to buy children area rugs with animal drawings. Your child will love the colorful design and most of all, the images of cute animals, right there on his bedroom floor!
In addition to animal print area rugs, you should use various animal prints for bedding and curtains. This will go well with wooden furnishings. If you truly feel creative and have the resources, consider finding a bed shaped like a train engine and stencils the words Zoo Express on the side. A train tour of the zoo is always a fun experience and now your child can treat him or herself to a ride through the zoo any day of the week.
This room is sure to please any animal lover. Playtime or bedtime will become an exciting adventure. With a room like this your child will have hours of enjoyment right in their own bedroom and you will have the joy of knowing you gave them this special haven.
