But they have not really lost preference if one were to correctly analyze the situation.
Households still prefer landscapes and that makes a huge difference on the walls. People still like to go for landscape paintings in their living rooms. Landscapes are still the best way to add life to the walls and make the room lively.
Today many artists prefer to paint for these very purposes. Again, with the advances in the real world that we live in today, the work of renowned painters is still in demand and fetch a huge price. On one hand we are talking about how the preferences have changed to the moving medium while on the other, the art market is bringing in huge monetary benefits to these artists.
So it would be wrong to say that the preference for landscaping and landscape artist is declining. One can at best say that it is preferred by people who see significant value in these paintings, be it monetary or intrinsic. Landscape paintings are here to stay and will remain the preferred medium to decorate houses and add an extra lease of energy into the environment.
