The Cold Hard Facts - The Kickoff Steps I Used To Pay off My Credit Card Debt
Lets start! The easiest way to begin is to figure how much money you bring home from your paycheck on a monthly basis. Then take a look at your check register or bank statements over the last couple of months. From there you should be able to write down a list of all of your bills. You need to be able to pull the following details from your list:
1. Write down each debt and the amount owed
2. List the amount you pay per month on each of one of your debts
3. List the time you have left before each one of your bills are paid in full
4. Write down the interest rate you are paying on each debt
5. Write down all your household bills
6. Your monthly take home pay
Add up all of your debts (number 1) and you will get the total amount that you owe for all of your debt. Yikes!! This sometimes can be quite an alarming number. Don't despair. Keep forging ahead because this information is critical to your success.
Then take the amount of all of your debt payments (number 2) and add them together to give you a total of all of your debt payments. This is another one that can be an alarming figure.
Then, add together the total amount of number 2 and number 5. This number will give you the total amount you spend each month. Call this total your total monthly expenses.
Take your monthly paycheck amount (number 6) and subtract the total monthly expenses. This is the amount that you have extra to apply towards your debt.
At this point I hope you find out that you have more paycheck than expenses. And using this is the amount towards your debt will put you closer to your goal of getting rid of debt.
Now you are in an awesome position to sit down and make out a plan, a family budget, to guide you along the way to getting rid of debt forever.
