Record TV Coverage For 2012 Paralympics

Channel four have recently unveiled plans for their London 2012 olympic televised coverage. An increase of 400% on what was broadcast during the Beijing 2008 games is said to be televised and they also plan to raise awareness of the games and how important they are.
The channel four chief executive has announces plans intended to increase coverage by throwing a reception in their honour. Guests included London 2012 chief executive Paul Deighton, Phil Lane- the Paralympics Great Britain chief executive and a number of Britain's top paralympians.
Over 150 hours of live game coverage is expected to be shown and channel four have announced plans to become re-branded and the paralympic channel during the course of the games.
Channel four promise to attempt to make the games as interesting as possible in both a technology and production manner. They have plans to bring on board a disabled crew and intend to have a fifty per cent disabled on camera crew. They have also discussed how they wish to change the way in which people look at sports and raise awareness of how talented the Paralympians are.
A spokesman has been quoted as saying. "The real legacy that we want to leave behind after 2012 is transformation in the way that viewers think about the Paralympics and about the concept of disability itself."
The face of the London 2012 paralympic coverage on channel four has been announced as being that of Ade Adepitan a member of the bronze medal winning Athens 2004 Paralympic wheelchair basketball team.
There will also be a new weekly programme called 'The Paralympic Show' in a magazine format to keep fans up to date with what is happening.
