Build A DIY Sauna For Your Health
Go to: Previous Article Next Article
Saunas can be highly beneficial to both your physical and mental health. If you are part of a health and fitness club that has a sauna you can benefit from one there, but they can fill up rather quickly. You can purchase a personal sauna for your home, but those can be very expensive. If you do not have the money to purchase one or the motivation to try your luck at getting into one at a fitness facility, you should try making a DIY sauna.
DIY stands for do it yourself. This is a cultural phenomenon that has been building in acceptance since its inception. So how about we give it a try by constructing our very own sauna.
Saunas are intended to do a variety of things. The heat works to relax muscles and cleanse the pores. Inhaling the steam helps by opening the lungs.
A way that saunas tend to be especially useful is by increasing your immune system. They do so by producing what some call an artificial fever. Fevers are an effect of the bodily immune system working extra hard to destroy toxic substances, and that heat helps to achieve this. Saunas are able to use this heat to expel toxins without the discomfort of a cold.
Sauna steam is produced by pouring water on top of heated stones. These rocks are usually heated by either a wood burning stove, an electrical heating mechanism or a gas powered stove that is situated in the corner of the structure. Each of those is specifically created to work in a sauna, and each has good and bad features. Wood stoves tend to be more natural than the others but they take a while to heat the area and are the most difficult to maintain. Electrical units are typically only useful for smaller saunas since they are more compact systems. Gas units are quick to heat and fuel efficient, but they are quite high-priced.
Whichever mechanism you choose to use in order to heat your sauna, building a sauna - regardless of whether it is from scratch or using a kit - is typically fun and affordable in comparison to buying a sauna. As long as you have some building knowledge and good work ethic, you should be able to get a decent sauna up and running in no time. So why not give it a try?
