Skin Care Basics

Are you too loaded to visit a dermatologist for skin care services? Don't have enough cash for those costly skin care products? Don't be sad. If you don't have any underlying skin problem that needs a doctors help, taking care of your skin is a snap with these simple tips. Stick to them to reverse aging and appear beautiful inside and out.
Get away from the sun. The simplest way to prevent skin problems such as wrinkles, freckles, age spots, rough, dry skin and skin cancer is to shield your skin from the sun. Too much sun exposure can lead to plenty of skin problems so never go out between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. when the sun's rays are strong. If you do, bring an umbrella, wear a wide-brimmed hat, long-sleeved shirts, and long pants.
Cool and comfortable sun-protective clothing can also be bought to block ultraviolet rays. Don't forget to use a good sunscreen too. Apply this to exposed areas 30 minutes before going outside and reapply every two hours after heavy sweating or swimming.
Avoid smoking. This nasty habit not only gives you lung and oral cancer but makes your skin look older and causes wrinkles. This is because smoking narrows the tiny blood vessels in the outermost layers of skin, decreasing blood flow which robs the skin of oxygen and nutrients. Smoking also destroys collagen that contributes to skin strength and elasticity. Aside from this, repetitive facial expressions you make when smoking like pursing your lips and squinting lead to wrinkles.
Never over clean your skin. Daily skin habits such as washing and shaving can destroy the skin so be careful. Long showers or baths are bad since hot water washes away skin oils. Warm water is recommended. Stay clear of harsh soaps since they can also strip oil from your skin. When shaving, apply shaving cream, lotion or gel and use a clean, sharp razor. After shaving, pat your skin dry with a towel to permit some moisture to remain.
