Different Kinds Of Vitamin Interactions

Vitamins are good for you, so it stands to reason that getting all the vitamins you can everyday is the best course of action. And the weapon, or should we say weapons of choice would usually be foods with significant vitamin content. However, regarding the intake of vitamins as a weapon against poor health, too much of it could cause this weapon to self-destruct.
This is more than just a warfare analogy - there are really vitamins that could "combust" when overdosed due to their toxic content. In other words, there is a point at which consuming more vitamins is not only unhelpful, it can be dangerous.
For instance, take Vitamin K, which abets the blood clotting process. You cannot survive without blood clotting, because without it, even the simplest of flesh wounds can be fatal. But there are some people who have blood that clots too readily, or who have health issues that require thinner blood. Blood thinning medication is generally one of the things prescribed to people with some forms of heart disease. Blood thinner also comes in handy during some types of surgery as part of the preparation process. So considering all this, if your doctor requires your blood to be thinned down, you wouldn't want to take a Vitamin K supplement or eat foods that have significant Vitamin K content.
You may have a Vitamin C deficiency if your doctor prescribes one aspirin on a daily basis. According to medical studies, Vitamin C is supposed to be absorbed by your blood cells, but this action may be prevented or hampered by the presence of aspirin in your bloodstream.
If you need more iron in your body, you may want to consider increasing the amount of Vitamin C in your daily food intake. Apparently, Vitamin C is proving to be very useful in absorbing iron faster, so if you've got a nasty anemia problem that won't go away, take that Vitamin C and you can expect it to be alleviated, if not immediately cured.
Your body's absorption of Vitamin A will suffer if you happen to be taking antibiotics for a considerable period of time. Another reason for possible Vitamin A deficiency would be medication required to lower cholesterol level.
Vitamin E and Zinc are like partners in crime. This means that if one is lacking, then chances are the other one is lacking as well - this would apply even if you are eating healthy foods. Another example of the above would be Vitamins C and E.
There is a practically endless stream of interactions that vitamins can have with other vitamins, certain conditions, medications and minerals, but the ones mentioned are the best-known. So to summarize, you have to take care against overdosing on your vitamin intake, because this could lead to catastrophic results when it comes to your existing diet and overall health. This article is not meant to replace your doctor's advice, though, so consult him or her and allow them to prescribe the right vitamins and minerals for your needs.
