Free radicals also enter our body through pollution caused by automobiles, radiation and cigarette smoke. The more free radicals that enter our body the more potential damage it can make.
Antioxidants provide the neutralizing factor in stopping these free radicals. The prevent the widespread of free radical chain reaction by donating electrons. There are no recommended daily dose for antioxidants but eating lots of fruits and vegetables rich in antioxidants can make a huge difference whether you age gracefully or not.
Where do you get sources for antioxidants? They are all around us. Look no further than your local farmer?s market or produce aisle in the grocery store. Fruits and vegetables contain the principal antioxidants.

There are also certain minerals that fight free radical damage such as zinc and selenium. They are not antioxidants and they boost the immune system as well.

Therefore eating a variety of natural foods will increase the amount of antioxidants in your system to help in neutralizing free radicals.
Foods are not just to satisfy our hunger but the natural substances it contain can make us live longer and disease free as we age.
