You can even watch the DVD in English and have Spanish subtitles if you want to practice reading and see how the grammar works. Doing this is a fairly painless way to learn the language because you can get into the movie and forget that you are actually learning at the same time.
Music is another fun way to learn. You can put Spanish language music on in the background and let the words settle on your subconscious. You will be surprised if you listen to songs over and over again, without consciously focusing on them, that you will pick up word and phrases.
Courses
Course offer face to face learning with a teacher. This can give you heaps of confidence in speaking to other Spanish speakers because you will be used to talking to your teacher. If you are in a class then you can meet like minded people trying to learn and pool your efforts and help each other. Confidence is half the battle when it comes to learning a new language. If you have the confidence to speak to Spanish speaking people then half the battle is won.
Ultimately, if you are prepared to work at acquiring the skills needed to speak Spanish, then you will succeed. Even if you don't become fluent in 3 or 6 months, you will get there with consistent effort.
