Do Slam Locks Eradicate Human Error?

It is a well known fact that the safest and most cost effective way to protect your vehicle against theft and damage is to always make sure your vehicle is locked, and the security system activated. Although people know this, a recent survey by a car insurance company discovered that 40 percent of UK vehicle owners do not always use their vehicle's security system, and 43 percent of owners have even admitted to leaving their car unlocked and unattended.
For commercial vehicles, the threat of theft and crime is particularity potent, and so many commercial vehicle owners cannot afford to ever take the chance of leaving their vans unlocked. This can be particularly tricky if the vehicle is being used to transport merchandise or possessions that require unloading into a shop or home. When moving items continuously inside the shop or the home from the van, the driver may forget or neglect to lock the vehicle. The vehicle is then left unlocked and unattended, and fully open to thieves.
Purposely or forgetfully leaving the vehicle open could end up costing the vehicle owner a fortune, with many commercial vehicles being highly valuable, and/or containing highly valuable items.
In these instances, installing a slam lock to the vehicle could provide the perfect solution. A slam lock will automatically lock and secure the door of a vehicle when it is shut, meaning the vehicle may only be opened again with the correct key. A slam lock eliminates negligence and forgetfulness, and eliminates the possibility of crimes of opportunity that can be committed against a van left unlocked.
Slam locks are a low maintenance, low cost security option, and are easily installed to the interior side of the doors of almost all commercial vehicles. Slam locks not only lock the doors, they often strengthen the panels surrounding the lock, and also act as a deterrent to criminals, helping protect the vehicle and the content inside, keeping it safe.
