Make sure you have no soaked clothes or other materials left in the washer or basin, unless you want to come home to a stinky house.
Next, for your travel, re-check your flight schedule, hotel accommodation, and guided tours. If you are taking any medications, make sure that you bring them with you. Do not forget your sun block as you might be going to a place with a climate different from your state. Travel light - that means packing only lightweight clothes. You don't want to be lugging heavy bags since you will miss the fun of traveling when you're carrying a heavy load. Just bring the basic fun clothes you will need for that travel destination.
When you have reached your destination, don't be flashy with your jewelry. If you're in another country, it is always advisable to be cautious against thieves. If the place you're travelling to is a non-English speaking country, bring a language dictionary. Search ahead in the internet for a description of the place you plan to go and be familiar with its taboo practices, specifically, and its laws to avoid untoward incidents on your part.
Now, for the fun. Look for its local museums because it is usually there where you can find artifacts not found in your place. Tour the place for its architecture. Churches are usually the favorite spot for most tourists. Mostly, you cannot find their designs in your area; too. Then, for the water fun, choose beaches with white sand, with a good scuba diving spot, and with aesthetic beach houses where good food is served. You can safely have that long-dreamed travel achieved now keeping these basic tips in mind.
Travelling without a camera is like travelling without a compass. Always make sure that to bring a camera wherever you might be travelling, to capture good images of memorable places. Keep the pictures as souvenirs that you will cherish forever.
