Gone are those days that ballroom dancing are just for the old and wealthy. In today's world, dance shows are into ballroom dancing as well as dance sports. Children are now into this types of dancing hoping to be in dance sports teams and competitions. This is an awesome way for you and your spouse to learn how to enjoy the dances during social events now. What is so good about it? Well first off, you get to learn several different ballroom dances.
The slower dances of ballroom dancing are easier to learn, so its suggested that you learn the basics from them first. The Waltz for example, is easily learned, popular and very common. After you get the easy dances out of the way and master them, then its time you move on to the more complex and much more faster dances.Here are my two favorite ballroom dancing dances to learn.
Waltz - is a great dance to start on for beginners. This dance is actually a lot easier to learn because it is a lot slower than all the other ballroom dances. If you master the footwork and the basic steps, then dancing the waltz at a social event shouldn't be a problem.
Tango - the tango is another ballroom dancing dance that is a very romantic and passionate dance. The tango is probably one of they most popular dances in the movies, you'll be able to spot it when you see the male biting down on a rose and seducing a woman. Although the tango came originally from Argentina, it has since then evolved into an American style tango to Uruguayan tango and European influences.
A great program that I recommend for people wanting to learn about ballroom dancing is Learn and Master Ballroom Dance by Jaimee Simon and Mark Short. Included with the program you will find 13 lesson DVD's and a couple high quality music CD's to listen to while you dance. Another dance program that may be of interest is Ballet Bible by Anita Leembruggen.
