Acne can be a frustrating condition to suffer through. Though there is an effort to organize many of these lawsuits into a class action suit, those efforts are in the early stages.
The Side Effects of Accutane
There are a wide array of long-term side effects brought about by the use of Accutane. Some patients report contending with a host of physiological and psychological disorders. These range from chronic bouts with all types of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) ? such as Crohn's disease and Irritable Bowel Syndrome, to the severely fatal diseases such as ulcerative colitis. Also on the physiological side are ailments to the liver and to the heart. Accutane use has also been linked to the onset of severe clinical depression arousing suicidal thoughts and inclinations.
Most of the cases brought against Roche Pharmaceuticals involve the chronic and debilitating nature of Crohn's disease, as it is one of the most serious of the Accutane side effects. However lawsuits have also been filed for patients suffering other bowel problems including colitis. In cases where patients developed inflammatory bowel disease most will have to endure the side effects for the rest of their lives.
