Starting up a rebound relationship can result in a tricky situation if you are still aiming to get your ex back. Your reasoning for having a rebound relationship will be that your ex will see you with this person and immediately want to take you back, but this is not guaranteed to work.
It could be the case that your ex sees you with this new person and accepts that there is no chance of getting back together and moves on. It will be even worse if they go on to find someone new.
It is also important to consider your rebound partner as well. They will just end up getting hurt if they find out what your real intentions are for them.
When you think about it, it isn't fair to use somebody in the hope that it will make your ex jealous. You should also think about the consequences that a rebound relationship could cause if everything goes to plan and you end up getting back with your ex.
There is the possibility that your ex will not be able to live with the thoughts they have of you being intimate with someone else. After time these thoughts could be come unbearable and they may not want to carry on with the relationship.
It would be devastating if someone got pregnant too. A man who got a rebound partner pregnant would have to live with that for the rest of his life. Women are different in the way they handle things like this, some will accept this and get on with but others won't be able to cope.
So overall the rebound relationship is to be avoided. There's a chance that things could work out OK by the majority of times it won't and you will only end up in a worse position than you were in the first place.
