Dog mating is an impressive process however people are somehow discomfited to see dogs mating because of the tendency of these animals to copulate anywhere. The mating process is another wondrous work of nature that ensures the recreation of the dog species. Dogs are bred for various reasons. Some would breed the pet for financial reasons. A dog lover may want to have puppies produced by the well loved pet.
Dogs are mated to produce a dog with the good looks and ideal disposition. Whatever reasons these dog owners have for breeding the dog, one thing is common. A healthy litter would be the common goal of pet owners and professional breeders for breeding the dog.
Long time dog owners would present a blas front when exposed to the mating of dogs. A new owner though may find the act rather alarming especially if the mating is the first time for both or for one of the dogs. The concerned owner would fear for the well being of the pitifully whining pet. A dog owner not conversant to the dog mating process would be alarmed at the pet's obvious sign of distress thus the owner may try to separate the dogs in an effort to help. However, no matter how distressed the pets appear, a dog owner must never try to separate mating dogs. Being stuck together end to end is completely natural in mating dogs and attempts to pull them apart can cause injuries.
Unlike male dogs that are always eager to mate, female dogs would only accept males if they are in the estrus stage. The bitch will hold the tail to one side indicating that she is ready thus a bitch that seems to be pulling away is not being forced to mate. The dog will mount the bitch from her rear end and in seconds will be able to penetrate the vulva. One dog will twist around after the penetration so that both dogs will face the opposite direction.
It will be noticed that human copulation is different from canine copulation given the fact that the male member can penetrate the vulva even if it is not erect. Dog's male member has a small bone called baculum that aids penetration by keeping the male member erect. After penetration, the tie will take place. The mating dogs will be tied together as the male member tissues swollen with blood traps the male member inside the female dog. The mating tie that lasts for about 30 minutes will be broken when the male member returned to its normal sizes after ejaculation. With the mating tie, the survival of canines is ensured.
