The History Of Red Envelope Day : Methods Anyone Can Participate
Go to: Previous Article Next Article
Red Envelope Day started in 2008. A very faithful man who supported the cause of Pro-Life for over twenty years by sending more than a hundred emails and letters and placing just as many phone calls started it all. He deeply wanted to come up with a symbol for the pre-borns defense so he contacted friends, acquaintance's and anyone who would listen and advocated for the Pro-Life cause.
They decided to start a campaign to raise awareness of how Pro-Life is a great choice and let people know that those children who have died by abortion can be heard as well. Letters or cards in this case which the envelopes are colored bright red were to be sent out to the Nation's most influential people and all others who would listen in each state. This is still the goal today.
In the middle of 2009 well over two million of these envelope's were sent out and mailed to The White House to be read and their voices heard by all within. One man's faith in his beliefs brought this all to fruition and to the eyes and ears of our Country's political and National leadership. People were amazed at the results this simple campaign had on many in the Country.
At the first campaign many did not know how to take it so they just decided on ignoring it. This included not only media and news agencies but officials of the nation as well. They looked upon it as something insignificant. More effort needs to be taken to get the acknowledgment and news coverage needed this and every other year of the campaign.
Soon the yearly Red Envelopes will be making their way out again and his time they are hoping for even more supporters and volunteers. This will be a way to give those that have no voice yet a chance to be heard and listened too. This time around more advertising campaigns and media groups are covering it and the best hoped for is that at least this time the President and the other National leaders will take notice to such an important issue that needs to be addressed.
With so many unimportant things some of the media reports you would think they would love the chance to report on something started out of a man's faith and belief in what he conceived as the right thing. Children are our future and we should strive to save them and help them be born not kill them before they are given a chance.
