There are many people who want to make their website search engine friendly. You can do this with help of following six steps: Add plain, unadulterated, ordinary text. Search engines can only read text and they do not have ability to read flash files or text that appears in a video. Although some search engines have ability such as Google that can do that but only the embedded text in the files. For flash video or pictures you should add non text elements as description. For example, add text in the "alt" option for the image using HTML code like the following: 
As the search engine is not able to view the image but it can read the text in the “alt” and index the image for your webpage. You can do the same with video files or Flash file. Validating your web page It is very important to validate your web page. Make sure that your HTML code does not contain any errors in the underlying HTML code. WYSIWYG web editor like Dreamweaver or Composer generate such code behind the scenes as you type your text. Run the final code through valuators’ such as HTML editor. Search engines rely on the basic correctness of the code. This helps them to index the portions of your webpage you want. In case of an error portions of your web page that are not indexed are included in the database of a search engine. Search engine may ignore that text in case of an error and your web page does not come up in its results page. HTML title tags HTML tags are the non-visible texts in the HTML code. Title tags display in the title bar of the browser window. It is used as an algorithm by the search engines to determine what web page is about. Most webmasters do not give important to title tags but the title tag is important for the webpage indexing. Easy navigation links Websites use only JavaScript-generated links to lead to other pages and the search engines are not able to understand JavaScript so the other pages on the website are not found by the search engine. Add a site map and link to that site map from your main page which gives the user facility of easy navigation. Eliminate Duplicated content Pages on your website that is identical or duplicate need to be eliminated. Some of the automated services are able to create alternate routes to the same content whereas the content goes under two different URLs. Duplicate content or link dilution does not help search engines to determine how important your web page is. Identical content or duplicate link would allow the search engine to remove both of those pages from indexing. Hidden text should be removed Hidden text on your website is included in the main body of your web page. When visitors view the page in a browser it is actually not visible to them. Search engines do not showing pages that contain hidden text.
