Ebook Writing: How To Write Your Ebook In One Day
Go to: Previous Article Next Article
Would you believe that you can write your own ebook in just one day? You can, and these tips can show you how. Your first ebook can be a little scary, but imagine the surge of confidence when you're finished. And in just 24 hours.
Several writers I know have been working on ebooks for at least a year. Will they ever complete their ebooks? It's doubtful: they've lost their inspiration. Once that's gone, it's hard to get it back.
Big tip: an ebook is an information product. It's not a poor facsimile of a print book. It contains short and useful information which the reader can put into action right away. Here's how to write your ebook in 24 hours.
Step one in ebook writing is to take stock of what you know well. It's easy to pass over skills that you use all the time, but you probably know something that others will gladly pay to know. Whether you think it's useful or not doesn't matter, you have skills that are valuable to others.
Sit back, relax, and take a mental journey through your life. Perhaps your grandmother gave you some fantastic recipes which you love and cook for your friends. There you go -- instant ebook.
Get out your pen (or computer), and list any idea that comes to you. Don't spend too much time, maybe thirty minutes. You may be surprised at what you can come up with. Go ahead and decide on something. Don't worry about choosing the perfect idea. It may seem mundane to you, but other people will pay to learn what you take for granted.
After you've chosen your topic, start making an outline. Don't worry about pleasing your English teacher, keep it simple. Just make a list. Write down everything that needs to be in your ebook. Next, just begin writing, adding to your outline's skeleton until you've completely explained all of your points.
Now, look at what you have. If you've covered everything you planned, the information is complete, and it's at least ten pages or longer, then you're finished with the main body of your ebook.
Now that you have the body written, it's time to write an introduction. Just inspire and encourage your reader. If you went with your grandmother's cookbook, tell a few stories from when you were growing up, cooking with her.
Finally, now your ebook is done, brainstorm titles. Aim for 30 titles before you stop. Choose one.
Your ebook is finished. Spend some time proofing it. Try reading it out loud, maybe even record yourself and listen to it. Spend a little time tweaking it, add a little, remove a little, do some editing. When it's as good as you think you can get it, you're done.
Try reading your book out loud to a couple of friends or family members. Does it make sense to them? If it does, all you need to do is convert it to a PDF and you've got your first ebook, ready to sell, in just one day.
