Creating A Budget Friendly Wedding Reception

People love weddings, but there is often a lot of spending involved with them. Some people are willing to throw it all away and elope, which can save a ton of money, but leave you feeling as if you left a lot of special people out of your special day. On the other hand, there are going to be plenty of not so special people in attendance, so it might be worth sacrificing a few of the traditional things to not go overboard. If you are looking for a way to create a happy medium and be surrounded by your loved ones without going into debt for your wedding, there are plenty of ways you can cut costs when planning. Make a list of what is important and then get creative with cost effective planning. For instance, if you want music at the reception, you do not need a DJ. You can create CDs or a playlist for your music and just set it off to the side, allowing guests to enjoy dancing without paying the cost of a DJ or band. Just be sure you do not need ipod repair or iphone repair well in advance of the big day.
Another option for saving big is catering the event yourself. This is time consuming but if you have a lot of support and the reception is small, it may work for you. This is better for casual weddings, but those who want to focus on great food and family and friends may find it is the perfect solution.
If you are not up for catering the entire event but you would like to save a bit on the food, you can bake your own cake. If you enjoy cake decorating as a hobby, why not put aside some time right before the wedding to bake and make your own. This will get you exactly what you want without spending a bundle. Plus, you get to bake your cake and eat it too!
Brides who think their guests may grow board with the traditional reception activities may consider entertainment throughout the evening to keep things going. Sometimes receptions offer performances from dancers or magicians that keep things loose and fun. This can get pricey, so consider offering ways for guests to entertain themselves without formal performances. If everyone is relaxed and visiting with old friends and family, board games may loosen things up.
Finally, consider reducing the guest list. The fewer guests you invite, the less you are going to spend on anything you choose to do. You can have the event with just your closest relatives and really splurge on other aspects of the wedding.
