3D Modeling in Blender is Awesome

The best thing in the world is working on 3d art. While there are a myriad of programs out there to use, I have found blender to work well for me (it is free). Blender is constantly being worked on and improved, and the newest versions come with great gizmos and gadgets.
One of the things I love most about Blender is the interface. It took a while, but it grew on me, and I realized that it is extremely efficient and learnable if you are willing to invest a little bit of time with it. One of the new features that Blender has is the ability to change keyboard shortcuts, a nice tip if the current layout doesn't work for you.
Blender has fantastic uses. After completing a 3d model, it can be used in games or movies, both of which look great rendered on an I-pad 2, and the screen protector helps keep off fingerprints while playing games. The animation editor will help to make everything look just how you want it, and animations can be blended together to make more animations for both games and movies.
It is a very powerful tool. It has several ready to use plug-ins, and is capable of importing other files made into one scene. It comes with the ability to render shadows, and create custom bone shapes to ease the burden of animation. Adding textures to the model is also easy, just add where on the model you want to split the model to make it flat, and then export the map to your favorite image editing program.
Blender is a remarkable tool, one I'd recommend for anyone who is looking to get into 3d art. It is powerful, flexible, accessible, and best of all free. I have had great satisfaction from using it and hope you will too!
