With the financial problems in the world right now, many people do not have as much money to spend on holidays. When other currencies become stronger people end up spending more than they wish. All due the conversion rate at the time.
Flying is a chore
It's not just everyday people that are feeling the price rises these days. The airlines are feeling the cost also due to the cost of fuel and less demand for flights. These both mean that the airlines have reduced the number of flights or the company gone under. Cost cutting has meant that you may be changed for checking-in at the airport. With a reduction in flights the choice of destinations and times in less than before.
The UK plans for the weather
When the weather changes on holiday abroad many of the normal activities such as water parks and time on the beach. These activities do not seem so much fun while in the rain. In the UK the weather changes very often and so we are use to the changes of weather and so are prepared. There are many indoor activities and wet weather activities so you are not stuck at the bar or in your room.
Less travel
By staying for a holiday in the UK you have much more control. You get to set the time you leave and the route you take. If you travel abroad you lose all this control and these things are dictated to you. Also if you stay within the UK the most time you may lose is hours rather than days if there are long airport delays.
Activities on the door step
A big reason for staying in the UK for a holiday is the fact that you don't have to pick between a beach and walking holiday. Being on a small island all the different types of activities you may possibly want are not too far away from each other. This allows you to get more from your holiday.
