At latter ages of life when the children have no spare time to look after parents nursing homes come into picture. These homes are known by different names as convalescent homes, skilled nursing units, care homes and rest homes. At the time when nursing homes initially opened these rendered their services only to senior citizens, but later on the facility extended their services and covered whole of the society that requires assistance, but need not to be hospitalized.
The homes have well equipped facilities and a dedicated staff to aid the patients in their day to day activities. The nursing homes are of varied types and adopt various strategies for the proper functioning of the home. The homes can be strict allowing hardly any freedom to the patient while others are quite liberal with their approach giving much of the freedom to the patients. This makes them feel at home.
The patients find their companionship with each other and share their feelings and experiences with them which relax them in this age of their life. Some of the nursing homes offer the patient to live with their partner thus helping them to make their life better.
Most of the nursing homes give much freedom to the patients residing in the nursing home. They try their level best to make the patients feel as if they are at their home. The nursing homes promote the feeling of brotherly hood among their patients and motivate them to make strong relations with each other thus increasing their companionship.
Nursing homes are specialized form of homes which are totally dedicated for the cause of humanity and can in real sense be called as socially responsible organization.
