There are three main types of genital warts cream treatments. They include Imiquimod, a cream that actually helps your immune system battle the outbreak. However, Imiquimod can weaken condoms, so you should avoid sex while using it. Podofilox is another cream that attacks and destroys the warts. Your doctor may actually want to apply Podofilox at first because it may irritate your skin. If you're pregnant, Podofilox is not an option for wart removal because your unborn baby can absorb the drug.
Many people are uncomfortable relying on severe treatments for genital warts (I would call burning, freezing and laser treatments severe, wouldn't you?) or chemical creams which have been shown to have a risk of side effects. If you are looking for a more natural treatment for genital warts you have some options such as homeopathic. Homeopathic medicine uses a theory that if you introduce a natural element similar to the cause of the ailment into the body, that the body will react by healing itself, producing that same healing effect for the initial illness. This is the same theory that is used in vaccinations, where a tiny amount of a virus is given to a person so that they will create a natural defense against a full-blown attack of the virus. The difference is that in this treatment, your body is fooled into producing extra healing power against a virus that you already have.
Freezing therapy or cryosurgery involves fast healing of the genital wart by the use of liquid nitrogen. Women who are pregnant may best be treated by this method. The genital warts disappear when treated with liquid nitrogen in a short amount of time and leave the skin smooth and wart-free. Anal, cervical or vaginal warts may ooze some liquid after this treatment, please be aware of this.
