Is Justin Beiber Behind The "Twilight Sucks" Movement?
Go to: Previous Article Next Article
Could Justin be behind the real push to slay the popularity of Twilight Eclipse? A real anti-twilight backlash has sprung up in recent months, as witnessed by the popularity of websites like http://www.twighlightsucks.com, but this author wonders how much of that backlash is natural annoyance with the whole girl-goth-witch-vampire-werewolf-pick-a-team obsession gone over the top, or if there's perhaps a more insidious conspiracy a foot. Baby, Baby, is Justin Beiber trying to keep the girls interested in him by throwing a monkey wrench in the Twilight super nova?
Purely another snarky speculation of course, but step into my devious mind for a moment and imagine what you might be thinking if you were Justin Beiber, on the verge of losing your voice and growing a beard, and on the verge of losing your fan base - because your music doesn't have any evidence of being able to mature outside of the pop formula so often career ending for the youngest superstars. Let's imagine Justin is watching his record and ring tone sales dropping as he notices more and more of 'his' fans graduating to the more mature and supernatural boys of the Twilight series. Could you not see Justin wanting to nip this threat in the bud?
So, why shouldn't I imagine Justin behind the anti-Twilight movement? Why shouldn't I speculate he's doing a little guerrilla damage control to slow down the loss of his bread and butter. After all, Justin is famous for practically launching his own career on the internet and is certainly capable of creating websites and getting traffic to plead one case or another.
Maybe it's just real people who are sick of all those semi-goth, team-who-gives-a-t-shirt, in your face promotions that's really driving the anti-Twilight backlash and not Justin at all. What's your opinion?
