The Wonders Associated With 4x4 Cars

We all like to go on vacation. There is no doubt about this. Many people actually prefer to continue holiday in distant and not very accessible locations. This is when things such as 4x4 cars truly come in handy. Allow us to take a look at some of the wonders of those types of automobiles.
My husband and I recently took a trip to a farm in the middle of the Free State in South Africa. It was a privately owned game farm and very rustic. All the appliances worked on gas, including the geyser. This all worked very well, however i must acknowledge that it was fairly challenging to get to the residential area on this farm. Especially since we were only driving in a small hatchback rather than one of those 4x4 cars. The poor small thing bottomed out a couple of times on the way in.
It was difficult to get to the farm because of the condition of the roads, if you can even call them that. We had to cross three little streams that had made the road really slippery and also rutted. At one point we had to very carefully position the tires of the car on a couple of flat rocks that formed an incomplete trail across the one stream. Not easy, I assure you. the remainder of the track that we had to follow wasn't much more than a flattened little bit of dirt cut in to the grass. A few of the rocks were large enough to take out the undercarriage if we dared to drive at more than 2 kms an hour. It actually took us about an hour to drive the five kms from the entrance of the farm to the residential area. It was well worth it when we got there, however it was still a significant challenge made a lot more difficult by the fact that if we got stuck there was no way to obtain help since there wasn't any mobile phone signal out there in the mountains.
On the other hand, some of the other guests drove 4x4 cars. They did not have nearly as much trouble as we did. Their own cars were able to navigate the tough landscape with out so much as blinking. The automobiles were high enough above the ground that the rocks did not even present a little concern. The ruts in the street and the streams were crossed in hardly any time. Obviously, all of them arrived some time before we managed to get there. This adventure has given me a strong desire to have one of those 4x4 cars of my own.
Needless to say, if someone else is actually planning to go out in to the middle of nowhere, I highly recommend that they find a way to get their hands on a 4x4 car for that specific trip. You don't want to get caught out there without any mobile phone signal and a ripped undercarriage or flat tyre without any extra because you already used it 2 kilometres ago.
