Although some niche areas have some special requirements your biggest limitation is being of legal working age. Dependability and reliability are job essentials and thus while presenting your mystery shopping company you must always be punctual or else facing the risk of losing your position.
Observation is a key element in the mystery shopping business. In many occasions you should be able to report any specific notes of various aspects. Internet access is a must. Detailed instructions will be provided by the company as to what is required of you to do.
You might have to visit a particular store and report back on various issues which will depend on what the company needs to accomplish through the mystery shopping experience. You may only be required to report back on issues such as store appearance and staff helpfulness.

Keep in mind that every program includes different shops and restaurants. Time spent at each place will vary. But remember, you will be making money while you shop.
