There are 5 different types of poster boards that you can use for different purposes. Before looking at the different varieties available, you have to be aware that the poster boards are extremely versatile and can be put to great use. Their uses vary so much that they are just as useful in corporate offices and high profile fests and events as they are at kindergarten, schools and other educational institutions. The posterboard can be put to effective use for art and craft projects because it is flexible enough to be folded over and soft enough to be cut to different shapes and sizes. At the same time it is sturdy enough to be used in one piece, mounted on the wall using hooks, clips, tape and adhesives.
The most commonly used variety of posterboard is obviously the single sided, 11 X 14 inch board which is used for presentations and displays, apart from putting up notices and announcements. The size can be customized as well if you want something bigger. The 12 X 18 inch, 20 X 30 inch and 22 X 28 inch boards will give you a much bigger display area. Once again it depends on whether you need 360 degree visibility for the display. In that case, you have to go with the second variety of boards. The double sided boards are those where you can use both sides of the board either by pinning announcements or painting the sides. This way, you can just flip the board for exhibiting a different face or use the entire area on either side to get the attention of as many people as possible.
The third posterboard variety that you will come across is the tri-fold corrugated board which stands out for two reasons. Firstly, it can give you a huge display area, sometimes in the tune of 36 X 48 inches when fully opened up. However, it has foldable panels and that allows you to fold the board down to 1/3rd of its size for easy portability, storage and preservation. Secondly, these boards which are lightweight in structure can be used for dividing a bigger display area into individual segments which are logically different from each other. They are also easy to mount.
The fourth posterboard variety is the neon board which comes with bright neon colors to attract attention of the public from a long distance. When you want the fact that there is a notice, event or announcement board to be spotted from far, you use these boards as the colors are highly visible. The last variety is another form of the neon board where you get two different neon colors on either side of the board. This way you get double the attention with bright colors like pink, fluorescent green and canary yellow. These boards are just as useful for festivals and marketing as they for creating a beautiful photo display that can be exhibited with much pride and in great style to a large audience.
